Kellie is a board certified specialist in Construction Law in Florida as as well as an AV-rated attorney whose practice areas include liability defense, consisting mostly of: construction defect litigation and professional liability defense. Kellie also practices in the area of wrongful death defense; personal injury defense; cyber security liability; automotive and trucking litigation; premises liability and employers’ liability cases, as well as first party insurance defense and coverage work.
Kellie’s construction litigation practice focuses on defending alleged defect claims on behalf of contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers in large hotel, condominium and municipal building projects. Her professional liability practice includes defending all types of professionals including architects, engineers, lawyers, accountants, insurance agents as well as brokers. Kellie routinely defends clients in cases where the damages being claimed exceed $10 million.
Kellie has over fifteen years of experience handling cases from inception through trial, particularly where clients are facing substantial exposure.
Kellie received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida in 1999 and a Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2002. Kellie is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
Kellie routinely serves as a speaker as well as teaches continuing education seminars on a variety of topics including Risk Transfer/Risk Allocation, Litigating Construction Law Cases, Application of Florida Statute 558, Coverage in Construction Litigation, Pitfalls of Settlement in Construction Cases, Claims Handling, and Preservation of Appellate Issues at Trial.
